Catherine Ho brings out the immense charm in Chau's nod to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, set in New York's Chinatown in the 2000s. After her pushy mother, a realtor, sells a dilapidated community center to Hong Kong investors, Elizabeth Chen finds herself butting heads with one of them--the aloof Darcy Wong. Ho peppers Elizabeth and Darcy's diverting exchanges with increasing tension. Humor and authenticity shine in Ho's tone and accent. She captures the Cantonese inflections of the gossipy Mrs. Chen and the fussing aunties, adding to this delightful listening experience.
