Wil Wheaton narrates a hilarious send-up of villainy in contemporary culture. After he unexpectedly inherits his Uncle Jake's super-secret supervillain business, Charlie Fitzer's life changes in surprising ways. Wheaton captures the dread Charlie experiences as a Millennial who is divorced, underemployed, in an unstable housing situation, and rapidly approaching 40. Wheaton also depicts the utter preposterousness of an international cabal of supervillains who are trying to negotiate over Zoom--but are being stymied by simple technical issues. Though Wheaton's delivery can occasionally become overwrought, it fits the increasingly absurd tone of Charlie's tribulations and ultimately is a perfect match for an everyman who is dealing with real-world villainy.
