This title, by the author of SEX AND THE CITY, is another in the genre of "women who have it all and must struggle to keep it." The plot follows the lives of three successful women, each tops in her respective field of business, fashion, or show business but forced to make significant changes in her life. Carrington MacDuffie offers a crisp, practiced performance. Her use of vocal nuance and skillful transitions between characters cannot, however, make the plights of those characters engaging or interesting. MacDuffie is a solid performer trying to breathe life into self-absorbed, querulous characters obsessed with image. All in all, the narrator gives a gallant performance of a mediocre novel.
