When a crane falls off the roof of a skyscraper and a group threatens more mayhem to come, the city goes on alert. It soon becomes apparent that the Watchmaker is behind the plot. Rhyme has to foil the villain's ultimate goal before many more people are harmed. Ballerini keeps the listener engaged with his clear, urgent delivery. It's not necessary to be familiar with other Lincoln Rhyme novels to enjoy this audiobook, but listeners will be more appreciative of the story and its characters if they have.
