Erin Bennett draws the listener into the relationship between Rachel Lindquist and parapsychologist Bryan Hennessy. After years of being estranged from her mother, Rachel returns home to find her mother suffering from Alzheimer's. Bryan is living in her home as he searches for a ghost. Bennett aptly portrays Addie's frustration with her memory loss and her hostility toward Rachel. Bennett also captures Bryan's boundless optimism and deep belief in magic. The boyish exuberance Bennett gives Bryan contrasts with Rachel's no-nonsense personality. As Rachel struggles with her mother's situation while trying to forge a relationship with Bryan, Bennett's performance is laced with poignancy.
