In a reimagining of JANE EYRE, listeners are taken to seemingly haunted Thornfield Hall. Hoping to rid the manor of its curse, Edward Rochester requests that a Lowood Witch make a visit, though he's skeptical of the witches' abilities. Jane Aire, now an instructor at Lowood, the same school for orphan girls where she was raised, is sent to investigate. Narrating the brief interludes from Edward's point of view, Tim Bruce captures his broodiness. Elizabeth Bower, who expertly narrates the majority of this supernatural gothic romance, transports listeners to the countryside of Victorian England. It's not surprising that Bower ably brings the schoolmistress to life. Easily differentiating among the various characters, she keeps listeners immersed in the story.
