Megan Tusing brings home this timely story about American intolerance in a time of war. She perfectly portrays reporter Anne Lemire, who is assigned to dispel unfounded rumors in Boston in the weeks before the U.S. enters WWII. Many of the events in the story resonate with current events, in particular, people objecting to involving America in a European war. Lemire is aided in her quest, somewhat reluctantly, by FBI agent Devon Mulvey, who is smitten with her. Tusing smoothly plays the male role in this dark drama about Nazi propaganda and how easily people can be fooled into actions that are not in their own interest.
