She gets a job at a prestigious local restaurant, but when she almost hooks up with her boss and discovers she works with her childhood friend Ernie, whom she rejected after prom, things get complex. Massoud provides an amusing delivery with excellent pacing of a messy romance. She gives Effie a big personality, expressing all of her doubts, fears, and joys with humor and care.
