This stunning collection of short stories is narrated beautifully by a quartet of gifted narrators who bring to life the reimagined lives of the nine-tailed fox of Asian folklore. As each story unfolds, the narrator imbues it with passion, sensuality, and a healthy dose of feminist perspective. Nancy Wu, Annie Q, Jen Zhao, and Eunice Wong have engaging and charming voices, and although each paces her story stories differently, their deliveries fit the unique subject matter of each story. Each tale brings new insight into the experiences of Asian immigrants, refugees, and world citizens who range from from silicone sex dolls and "paper children" to women whose crushes manifest as stones.
