ONLY THE BRAVE

Narrator Samuel Roukin introduces listeners to this unique story of the German people before and after Hitler's maniacal rise to power. Roukin deftly creates both German and Jewish characters with identifiable voices and cadences. Sophia Alexander pays no mind to Hitler's actions until the hospital where her father works is burned to the ground because he refuses to perform experiments on Jewish children for Hitler. This and a few other horrors prompt Sophia to become an activist who helps Jewish people escape Germany--even her sister, whose husband is one-eighth Jewish. The depth of passion in Roukin's performance illuminates the characters and their bravery. Her delivery will enlighten listeners on the many Germans who were against Hitler's despotism and his attempted annihilation of the Jewish people.
