Sadly, her over-enunciation and slow pace result in a ponderous delivery of its fascinating details. In addition, Althens's upspeak is distracting, and her tone may confuse some listeners as it doesn't always match the content. The alarms sounded by this audiobook deserve listeners' attention: the loss of entire ocean species due to climate change, for example. One wishes the narration were as compelling as the message.
