Yumi's exalted job is to artfully stack rocks to appease the spirits, while Painter's job is to transform corporeal nightmares into harmless paintings. But when a stray spirit asks for help, these two find themselves trading places. Reading expertly distinguishes Yumi's observations. Kramer uses an old-timey-radio voice to bring a timeless feel to Painter's more technologically advanced society.
