THE SAFE MAN

This eight-part podcast is wonderfully produced and offers a handful of actors woven in and out of a riveting and well-paced story. After a novelist calls a locksmith to open a safe, things get a bit scary--for both of them. The story intertwines the fantastical into the plot. A lot of attention has been paid to the audio details--background noises, sirens, punches, phone calls, the proximity of characters, and more. The main characters have very different voices and speaking patterns. Jack Quaid's is slightly higher and frantic, while Titus Welliver's is deeper and more in control. All the elements combine to bring the story to its creative ending. Listeners will remain engaged. Once you start listening, you won't want to stop until it is finished.
