The four Milani sisters have very different reactions to learning that their reality television series is delayed because of COVID-19. Now the Milani family members are forced to spend all their time together, and tensions rise as they wonder if their television show will ever resume filming. Hoover gives each character a distinct voice, especially the four sisters, highlighting the charming and unique qualities of each one. The author's mother, Manijeh Khakpour, performs a section of the novel written in Farsi with a beautiful level of emotion, adding a personal touch to the audiobook.
