GHOST OF THE BAR-H

by | Read by Gene Engene

Western • 5.75 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

One can understand why Gene Engene has so many devoted fans. His narrative style--that of the raconteur who beckons listeners to settle in while he tells of another adventure--suits the Western tales perfectly. The Lehmans' story concerns two sisters from New Hampshire who come to Wyoming to see the "farm" their brother has left to them. "Good" and "bad" cowboys alternately help and threaten the ranch. Good fare for Engene's considerable talents in this genre. Each cowboy, sherriff and saloon keeper has a different voice. Some characterizations are highly exaggerated but add to the scenes of colorful adventure. R.F.W. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 93]
