Samuel Roukin, who has narrated the previous two titles in Dugard's Taking series [TAKING PARIS and TAKING BERLIN] is once again quite splendid in narrating this account of the beginning of WWII, which focuses on The Battle of Britain. Dugard goes into the politics of the situation, portraying the relationships between Churchill, FDR, and Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy, in addition to the combat action, which focuses on such fighter pilots as Peter Townsend and Richard Hillary. It's all quite involved and well told, engaging the listener from the beginning. Roukin's British accent is perfect for this work. He is energetic, clear in delivery, and more than appropriately expressive. He affects different voices for the many characters, including Churchill.
