In this captivating slow-burn romance narrated by Elyse Dinh and Teddy Hamilton, Willa has just moved into her late aunt's home on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. Recovering from the death of her husband and years of caregiving, she endeavors to restart her career as a cookbook ghostwriter. Hudson, the island's handyman, voiced by Hamilton, is striving to establish himself in a new contracting business. Their paths cross when Hudson's escape artist dog, Noodle, ends up in Willa's garage. The two meet, and sparks fly. Hamilton's gruff voice and perfect timing add to Hudson's charisma. While Dinh's dialogue comes across as somewhat stilted, her narration is otherwise well done. S.K.G. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2024]
