Deepti Gupta's narration lends authenticity to this young adult tale of Indian mythology and resurrection. Kajal, who is able to resurrect people, is trying to raise her sister, Lasya, before she becomes a permanent murderous spirit. But Kajal is captured by rebels and forced to resurrect the Crown Prince in order to restore rightful order to the blighted kingdom. When her plan goes wrong, she must work quickly to fix it before her sister is lost to her forever. Gupta's ability to infuse these teens with angst and determination will keep listeners enthralled and sympathetic. Characters include important mythical creatures, and Gupta personifies each type with a unique voice and personality. Listeners will be pulled in by the story and stay for the storytelling finesse.
