Ben Allen gives a believable performance as a man who is struggling to be understood, even as his body betrays him. Mrs. Malley is shaken out of her own grumbling existence after a stroke when she is rescued by Kiki, a New Zealand girl who feels lost in England. Helen Lloyd shines as the uptight Mrs. Malley, who is blind to her own prejudices. Natalie Beran's chipper delivery as Kiki gives the whole audiobook a bubbly flair and brings together the three characters for an uplifting look at human kindness.
