As Paula, Nicol Zanzarella adopts the no-nonsense attitude of a woman in charge, keeping to the plainspoken tone that defines her persona. Megan Tusing, as Stella, bristles with drama and delivers breathless questions or livid indignation. Young Julie is portrayed by Leslie Howard with flustered innocence.
