THE CITY IN GLASS

by | Read by Susan Dalian

Fantasy • 6 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2024

Susan Dalian narrates this two-arc story about love between a demon and an angel, and between a demon and her city. The demon, Vitrine, has guarded Azril and its citizens for centuries. Dalian does an outstanding job portraying this love: Vitrine is narrated as a caring mother. When angels destroy the city, Dalian captures both Vitrine's heartbreak and anger. She curses one of the angels, who is now bound to the city, and begins the long, slow process of rebuilding. Over the centuries, angel and demon learn from each other and become entangled in love and respect. Dalian embraces both characters' growth in a steady and determined narration that is a joy to hear. Love is deep and true. L.M.G. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2025]
