THE LIBERTY SCARF

Three accomplished narrators create a unique listening experience. The Liberty scarf is a motif weaving its way through three novellas by three authors. It's WWI, and three women are making their way in a male-dominated world. In Runyan's story, Ann Marie Gideon voices Iris with determination as she tries to get her designs noticed at London's venerable Liberty company (of fabric fame). In Ciesielski's work, Caroline Hewitt believably portrays Geneviève, a bilingual French-Canadian immigrant who is struggling to find her place in the Army Signal Corps in France. And in McMillan's novella, Saskia Maarleveld brings nurse Clara to life in a voice filled with compassion, comfort, and hope.
