Golden Voice narrator Soneela Nankani takes on this paranormal thriller set in an alternative New York City of the mid-1800s. Nankani takes on the role of Miss Radhika Dhingra, a newly minted lawyer of South Indian heritage with a hard shell and the need to overcome racial prejudice. Dhingra's first client is the undead Mr. Evelyn More, a 400-year-old vampire who has been falsely accused of killing his human friend, Miss Agnes Tomson, in a murderous frenzy. Nankani uses shifts in tone and pitch rather than accents for the host of male characters, while the diverse female characters have distinct voices reflecting their class. Nankani's unemotional performance is perfect for the lackluster investigation, the lengthy backstory of the dead man, and the startling conclusion.
