A dual narration by Zion Jang and Laura Knight Keating plays up the contrast between proper witch Max and Texan Delia Merriweather, whose magic is trapped by a hex. Keating gives Delia a twangy accent that rings with both humor and confusion as she puzzles out her feelings for her new neighbor and discovers her power. Keating's voices for Delia's eccentric family members are equally irreverent. Jang's quieter, controlled voice for Max rises in pitch as Delia's bewildering human ways befuddle him. Jang also voices Max's imp and Max's brother, who have different accents and mannerisms.
