Narrators Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor portray Teddy and Gus, Teddy's best friend's older brother. They can't stand each other; however, when Gus needs a caregiver for his daughter, Teddy steps into the role. Forced proximity provides a look into each other's real self, making them re-evaluate the sometimes thin line between love and hate. With their extensive audiobook experience, it's no surprise that both narrators serve listeners an auditory treat. Brentmoor's vibrant performance captures Teddy's personality, both her happy go-with-the-flow external side and the insecure side she rarely shows. Though his female voices aren't particularly strong, Clarke's expressive portrayal of Gus captures the rancher's breadth of emotions.
