Victoria Villarreal narrates an unconventional love story. Amanda Dean is about to get married, but as everything goes wrong on her wedding day, she reminisces about her past relationships and wonders if she has chosen the right person. As Amanda reflects on her life and loves, and her story bounces between her past and present, Villarreal subtly varies her narration to distinguish Amanda at various ages. Villarreal similarly performs the two constants of Amanda's life, her mother and her best friend, Marissa, to believably cover a span of 20 years. Who Amanda ultimately ends up with may not be a surprise, but Villarreal's solid and enjoyable narration makes the story well worth one's time.
