DROP DEAD SISTERS The Finch Sisters, Book 1

Soneela Nankani expressively performs this heartfelt and humorous family drama, making it a compulsive listen. Remi, the youngest in her family, is anxious and conservative compared to her hippie parents and accomplished two sisters. When a dead body turns up at their campsite during a family reunion, the three sisters unite to protect each other. They may not know exactly what happened, but they know enough to lie for each other. Old hurts surface while the trio try to focus on the task at hand: an increasingly difficult need to hide the body. Nankani uses well-timed pauses to express sarcasm and add to the comedic effect. She provides great character differentiation of the family members. Hopeful tones reflect the sisters' determination to get through the weekend.
