Author and narrator Herbie Pilato stitches together the facts surrounding the attractive, highly talented English-born actress Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg. She is most famous for her role as Emma Peel in the iconic 1960s television series "The Avengers." Pilato's narration is understandable, workmanlike, and without much flair or intonation. Direct quotes from other sources are so lengthy that the listener can easily lose track of who is speaking. While an interview with Rigg's only daughter is an exclusive, the work often provides endless cast rosters and other details but little insight into Rigg herself. For example, Rigg's net worth at death is provided to the penny. Common sense and editing would have helped. A handful of foreign expressions are mispronounced. Sadly, this is a disappointing listening experience, as Rigg was a fascinating character. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2024]
