BAKING IT MERRY

Narrator Melanie Mendez brings warmth to the holiday romance that develops between Daphne, a baker, and Tristan, an architect. Daphne sets up a temporary shop in the lobby of Tristan's office building. At first, with his preference for simple elegance, he resents the clutter of Daphne's kiosk--which looks like a gingerbread house. Mendez believably portrays Tristan's Grinch-like attitude. This contrasts with her sunny portrayal of Daphne. Eventually, to please Tristan's family, the two pretend to be dating. Mendez softens her portrayal of Tristan as the pair grow closer.
