Ekua Ekumah and Sara Novak's narration brings layered voices to this story of rediscovery and healing. Whitney Appiah is a masseuse with a special skill--she can sense where her clients are hurting and heal them. The twist comes when she realizes she has roots in a traumatic past. Ekumah's and Novak's deliveries highlight the shifts between Kumasi, Ghana, in the 1990s and present-day London, immersing the listener in the cultural and emotional landscapes of both. Novak captures Whitney's sensitivity and strength, giving life to her struggle to reconcile her gift with the buried trauma of her past.
