Elizabeth Knowelden narrates a light and frothy Regency romance. After a year of mourning, Young cousins Issie and Bella travel to London, where they are mistaken for each other. Rather than correct the error, they let it continue. Knowelden creates distinctive personalities for the two girls: She depicts Bella as charming and vivacious, while Issie is portrayed as more subdued and anxious. Their respective romantic interests--a dashing lord and a charming doctor--are also believably portrayed. The love and friendship between the cousins, which Knowelden delivers with warmth and tenderness, is a highlight. Overall, Knowelden's fun narration makes this story far more enjoyable than the whisper-thin plot should allow. K.M.P. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: FEBRUARY 2025]
