After a violent confrontation that leads to his dismissal, Ricard files a civil suit against MediMiracle. The novel's structure is perfect for audio. In interwoven monologues, secret passions, prejudices, and personal problems are revealed. In the jury room, antagonisms among factions run high. Listeners hear from both attorneys and jurors, who include an editor, a cleaner, a furniture magnate, a vet tech, and more. Accepting the conclusion might stretch listeners' credulity, but the outstanding performances make this an enjoyable listening experience. S.J.H.
