There are few voices better suited to Angelou's poetry than that of Golden Voice Robin Miles. Somehow, there's a consistent sweetness to Miles's tone, even when she performs Angelou's most emotional and wrenching titles. At the same time, Miles's lovely vocal power is ever present and inspiring, matching Angelou's style. Miles's rendition of the classic "And Still I Rise" captures that power, and other notable poems like the clever "I Hate to Lose Something" add a level of sly humor. Angelou's Inaugural poem, "On the Pulse of Morning," maintains the beauty of its original reading by the author herself. With such a wealth of poems, a pause between titles is vital for the sake of clarity, and there are noticeable transitions that move too hastily. Otherwise, an excellent audiobook.
