Any dog lover will thoroughly enjoy this book. Narrator Johnny Heller is a perfect match for the voice of John Grogan, owner of Marley, the rambunctious and endearing Labrador retriever who breaks every rule in the book. Marley is thrown out of obedience school, slobbers all over strangers, eats everything he can put into his mouth, including paychecks and diamond necklaces, and yet is gentle and loving. Grogan is adept in causing the listener to experience the many incidents of frustration, anger, love, and joy felt by John and Jenny regarding the irrepressible Marley.
