This engaging collection of nine short radio dramas performed on A Prairie Home Companion features Keillor as Guy Noir, NYC private detective, and friends. Although featuring virtually the same ending in each episode (Guy and his friend, Pete, manage to shoot one another), this is a very funny and intelligently written production. Dialogue is clever, with much alliteration, and features farcical “plots.” Keillor is very good, with an accent that could have come out of a ’30’s movie, as are the other players. The sound effects are great, giving the ambiance that comes only with well-produced radio drama. This production is a treat and makes one want to hear further adventures of Guy and his cronies.
