HAYWARD SANITARIUM

“There are certain areas of the human mind, and indeed of the world we live in, that were never meant for investigation . . . .” So intones the announcer as he opens each episode of a serial which combines the spirit of “golden age” radio drama and state-of-the-art stereo production. The setting is a small sanitarium specializing in treating casualties of occult research--with a strong side-line in internal intrigues. The actors are the least polished aspect of the production; occasionally they sound like they’re reading rather than speaking spontaneously. But this doesn’t detract seriously from the fun.
