A LITTLE YELLOW DOG

by | Read by Paul Winfield

Mystery & Suspense • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1996

"Easy" Rawlins just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Even with a responsible job, changing his ways is hard. Apparent from the opening lines, Paul Winfield IS Easy. He's smooth and beguiling. Winfield's satiny baritone conveys the highs and lows of Easy's life. We hear the pride he has in his adopted children and the slight amazement he has in himself for keeping his job. As things turn bad, we meet tough characters from Easy's street life. Winfield's cadences roll out the dialogue with gangsters, gamblers and white men. Soft and low, Winfield is even successful with the women. Winfield's narration is hard to beat. R.F.W. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT 96]
