WICKED PREY

Thousands of delegates, protesters, and law enforcement officials stream into the Twin Cities for the 2008 Republican National Convention. Add to the mix a young man with a radical right-wing background and a sniper rifle, and a team of professional stickup men with their sights set on a handful of high-roller lobbyists carrying oodles of undocumented cash. Richard Ferrone portrays a legion of characters involved in enough subplots to fill a miniseries. Without Sandford's usual mix of truly creepy villains, Ferrone is free to focus on painting vivid word pictures of the difficulties facing Lucas Davenport and his team.
