OLE DOC METHUSELAH

Although these stories were first published as a collection in 1970, they feel much older. This is an amiable "ole-fashioned" space opera about a hero who rescues damsels and rights wrongs with a comic sidekick. David Brand has a clear sense of the melodramatic reading the material requires, and he has the technique to pull it off. He commands a wide range of accents, which sets off the large cast in high-relief. He is clearly having fun.
