POETS ON BROADWAY

British-born Tony Jay is the voice for Disney villains in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LION KING and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. He's also a classically trained actor of great range and depth. In this recording, he treats Broadway's most distinguished lyricists as the great poets they are and recites their best lines over his own lush synthesizer arrangements of the music for which they wrote. Like the popular, syndicated radio presenter of music and poetry, the late Robert McCormick, Jay is unblushingly romantic, even corny.
