BEYOND THERAPY, BEYOND SCIENCE

by | Read by Mary Beth Hurt

Personal Growth • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1992

A self-described "recovering psychotherapist," best-selling author Schaef analyzes popular addiction/recovery therapy, concluding that real healing must be a deep process which comes from within each individual. Mary Beth Hurt's reading of this essay is consistently clear, expressive and evenpaced, with appropriate emphasis. The sound quality is good. However, the first-person narrative to an audience of fellow psychotherapists is long and rambling, with no introduction, chapter headings, or meaningful pauses. In spite of Hurt's professional delivery, the text would be easier to follow on paper. J.R. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT 93]
