What happens when you just can't take it any more? And who profits from disaster? Farmers Peter and Sandra Wiley have been pushed to the edge by poor crops and financial calamity. Evicted from their home and unable to find work, they concoct a desperate attempt to evoke sympathy through a planned "accident" to their son, Will. They can't go through with the plan, but it's too late--daughter Andromeda falls into the trap. Coming too close to death for any little girl, she will never be the same. Actress Judith Ivey nails the Kansas and New York dialects and personalities of every character except the young Andromeda, whose voice is annoyingly squeaky. Fortunately, she speaks seldom.
