The British actress Anna Bentinck enhances our pleasure in this classic cozy and ensures that we care about the characters and their predicaments. We learn that Rona is a reluctant sleuth who stumbles into a murder while researching the life of a reclusive painter. Bentinck portrays all the Parish family members as distinct individuals, and we feel contentedly involved in sorting out the truth.
