ST. PETER'S FAIR

by | Read by Patrick Tull

Mystery & Suspense • 9 hrs. 30 min. • Unabridged • © 1992

Although civil war continues, England is at peace enough for the abbey to sponsor its annual fair. When one of the visiting merchants is murdered, Brother Cadfael determines "whodunit" and why. It's easy to imagine the hero through Tull's narration. Cautious and deliberate, he ponders clues as lives hang in the balance. He makes slight changes when vocalizing the other characters. The listener's attention is maintained, but the pace of the narration is slow, almost tedious. A creative, eye-catching, black and white cover shows Cadfael running down the street about to pass a hidden, shrouded villain. C.J.M. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT 92]
