The oceans are in trouble, and there is much we can do for them at little or no sacrifice to ourselves, say the authors. Ted Danson is a well-known actor (“Cheers”) and social activist, and Michael D’Orso is an accomplished writer. Their book appears to have been rushed into audio format. Michael Kramer has a wonderful, almost hypnotic, voice and a carefully measured cadence. However, he must delivery lengthy Internet addresses (impossible for a listener to remember) and attempt to convey through inflection the book’s numerous headings and indentations—which divide the book’s narrative from its interviews and homages to “ocean heroes.” If you care about the oceans, this is a good book to read. If you attempt to enjoy it in audio format, expect a few bumps. F.C © AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2011]
