Lawton adds further horror to war-ravaged London when a group of children find a severed arm as they play. Detective Sergeant Frederick Troy moves through the many facets of a displaced society, attempting to piece together the unthinkable--a series of murders. Narrator Nigel Graham is excellent with an international cast of disparate and desperate people. Suspense mounts as Detective Troy becomes hunter and hunted.
