What are the odds of a marriage surviving infidelity, ennui, and financial ruin? Regardless of their chances, Art and Marion take a gamble in this timely audiobook. On the brink of bankruptcy, having been hit by the economic downturn, the two gather the money they have left and hit a Niagara Falls casino, risking it all in the hope of stabilizing their shaky finances and relationship. Narrator Boyd Gaines is masterful throughout his performance, capturing the couple’s banter, the flashbacks that show their missteps, and the lively descriptions of Niagara Falls. With the exception of a few slow sections here and there, this production will keep the listener rapt with attention and wondering if their gamble pays off.
