Narrator January LaVoy gives a compelling performance of a love story that transcends time. She transitions effortlessly between two characters: Kate Wilson, a determined young American, and Julian Lawrence, a stereotypical English gentleman. LaVoy maintains clear, crisp enunciation, intonations, and accents for the British characters. In addition, she switches from male to female characters easily and makes it easy to discern one character from the next. Subtle changes in her pacing and tone capture the time shifts and the changes in characters’ personalities as they find themselves transported between modern America and WWI-era France.
