Serena and Poppy have never liked each other, but their lives are forever intertwined due to the brutal murder they were accused of as teenagers. Twenty years later, when Poppy is released from prison, she's determined to prove her innocence, and this causes both women to reexamine their past. The novel is told from both Serena and Poppy's points of view and is narrated by Robin Miles and Charlotte Parry. Both narrators bring their characters to life, and Miles does particularly well embodying Serena's fear of losing the life she has created if her true identity is revealed. Tim Gerard Reynolds also appears briefly as the man who was murdered. His narration itself is good, but his voice doesn't fit the picture painted of the man throughout the book.
