A FEAR OF VENGEANCE

Nowhere is the difference between English and American police methods more apparent than in this superlative mystery. Detective Inspector Bill Forward put Bob Plummer inside for years, and now that Plummer's out, he's determined to get revenge. Narrator Jonathan Keeble's rousing presentation captures cops and their families, villains, and everyday citizens. His best creation is Father O'Connor, who sounds exactly like an Irish priest who's gutsy enough to wear a wire to catch a drug dealer should sound.
